BRUDD
Contribution to the bicentenary of the Norwegian constitution 1814-2014
Norway’s history through 200 years of democracy and national unity is also a story of disempowerment and loneliness. In the proud saga of our people, our country and all things Norwegian, there are many who have fallen by the wayside.
Alongside stories of freedom and inclusion there are also acounts of stigmatising, exclusion, and being deliberately overlooked, both earlier and today. You will find fragments of these stories in this exhibition. The museum project “Brudd” was initiated by the Arts Council in 2003.
The exhibition is a combined venture made by the Árran Lule Sami Centre, Bergen City Museum, Museum West, the National Medical Museum/the Norwegian Technical Museum, Oslo Museum, and Vest-Agder Museum.
Editor of photographic material: Rune Eraker.
The exhibition will be on show from August 28th in Bergen, Oslo, Tysfjord and Vest-Agder. See the online exhibition at http://brudd2014.weebly.com
The exhibition is supported by the Arts Council and Hordaland County Council.
